Health Sciences programs’ continuing accreditation depends on the continued accreditation of the parent campus, Coahoma Community College.

The Respiratory Care Technology program, CoARC program number 200582, awarding the Associate in Applied Science degree (AAS) from ¹û¶³´«Ã½app, is located at 901 Ohio St. in Clarksdale, Mississippi. It is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)  (). CoARC accredits respiratory therapy education programs in the United States. To achieve this end, it utilizes an ‘outcomes based’ process. Programmatic outcomes are performance indicators that reflect the extent to which the educational goals of the program are achieved and by which program effectiveness is documented.


COMMISSION ON ACCREDITATION FOR RESPIRATORY CARE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Goal I: To prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs).

OBJECTIVE A: Upon completion of the program, graduates will demonstrate the ability to comprehend, apply and evaluate clinical information relevant to their roles as registered respiratory therapists (cognitive domain).

OBJECTIVE B:
Upon completion of the program, graduates will demonstrate technical proficiency in all the skills necessary to fulfill their roles as registered respiratory therapists (psychomotor domain).

OBJECTIVE C:
  Upon completion of the program, graduates will demonstrate professional behavior consistent with employer expectations as registered respiratory therapists (affective domain).
