Clarksdale, MS – The Cosmetology Program at ¹û¶³´«Ã½app (¹û¶³´«Ã½app) celebrates the success of its Summer 2024 cosmetology students who recently took a significant step towards full licensure.
Thirteen students traveled to Jackson, MS, to complete the theoretical component of their Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering (MSBCB) exam, a rigorous 120-question science-based test. This examination covers an extensive range of topics, including anatomy, physiology, chemistry, electrical fundamentals, as well as the science of skin, hair, and nail structures and associated disorders.
The high pass rate among these students is a testament to their dedication and the program's emphasis on thorough preparation. With another seven students scheduled to take Part 1 of the exam in December, ¹û¶³´«Ã½app remains committed to its goal of having all 20 program participants fully licensed by their May 2025 graduation.
"From day one, we've stressed that dedication, consistency, and adherence to instructions are the keys to success in earning licensure," said Nancy Howard, Cosmetology Instructor. "Here at ¹û¶³´«Ã½app, we provide double the necessary resources to ensure our students succeed. Witnessing their progress towards licensure and seeing them mark their place in this vibrant industry is deeply gratifying."
The cosmetology industry, valued at over $528 billion annually, offers a promising future for graduates. Howard, reflecting on her own licensure journey in 1996, noted, "The outlook for success in this field is exceedingly positive, and I am honored to lead ¹û¶³´«Ã½app's Cosmetology program. We are looking forward to an exceptional year ahead as these talented students advance."
With ¹û¶³´«Ã½app's unwavering support and the students' commitment to their craft, this year’s cosmetology cohort is poised to make a lasting impact on the beauty industry, equipped with the skills and knowledge for thriving careers.
